- Bought my 1st bike in 1970 . It was a well used Honda 305cc. Had to trace the owner who was in jail. Learned a lot because I had to repair it myself.Sold it later to be able to afford an engagement ring. In 1977 I bought a 2nd hand Honda 400 Four and a year later traded that for a Honda 550 Four . With that I had a narrow escape and with 3 small kids at home I decided to sell. In about 1982/3 I had a BMW 600/6 which I sold after my riding buddy was killed by a bus. I recently read Tobie Wiese's book DIE BIKE BOOK and realised that I am a sleeper. Then my wife suggested that we ride a bike and I decided that I could not let that opportunity pass ! I bought a Yellow 2004 1150 GS. And do I like it !
