Chris, 50 years old, last rode a Honda CG125 in High School - the same model that that delivery drivers could not break, Thankfully, mine had no 'chemist' box on the back!
then a Dakar, then an 800 GS, and now an 1150 GS; the best bike BMW ever made?
Real name Nico
I am a tourguide/operator.
I also own a 1986 K75S but have always wanted a GS.
I mainly use the GS as extra transport to dodge traffic, also like to do longer rides on the weekends.
Not geared for offroad so I mainly keep to tar.
I was one of those lucky enough to be have motorcycles when I was young, eventually taking part in moto X, enduro's and even a few months on a RD350 trying my hand at road racing. When I went to the army in 87, that was it, no more bikes until 2006 when I decided to buy 2 x TW200's to get back into biking.
These soon turned into BMW650's and since then, mine has turned into a 800GS.
Nowdays my wife Natalie and I are having loads of fun serving the BMW Motorcycle Club and it's members. We have had so much fun over the years that it seemed only right to give back.
Hi, I'm the webmaster of this site, and the lucky owner of 'Mr. Badger'.
I started with Brenda Buttercup when I got her for a song when I mentioned to a friend that I was in the market for a bigger scooter to replace my 150cc Vespa. At first I didn't want her, thinking that BMW bikes must be just like their cars - common. How wrong was I...
Brenda and I did the Anysberg trip in 2005, and we did the introduction to off-road rider training at Zevenwacht, and Julie and I and Brenda had a threesome at the ''Intro to offroad rider with pillion training''.
Brenda Buttercup: In the Tankwa Karoo reserve
I have been married 20 years, and have two sons - one doing 3rd year Property Studies at UCT, and the other Sound Engineering. I sold Brenda to my eldest when I got Mr.Badger - a beautiful blue and white 2003 R1150GS - in 2007/8. Now my wife Julie owns Brenda and we do trips together.
Mr.Badger at Klipbokkop: This is the jumping on the advanced course
Mr.Badger is a bike among men. I have done the intermediate and advanced offroad courses with him, and practise skills challenges and allsorts. If I drop him, he just lands on his tappet-cover protectors, waits for me to pick him up, then shakes the sand out of his pelt. He has over 170 000km on the clock and is still going strongly.
I am the first person to have completed every one of the courses provided by Country Trax
and I was awarded a certificate for this honour, as well as a complimentary training course.
I believe that regular training and courses are essential to maintaining your riding skills and improving your safety on a bike.
My name is Leon and I have a GS650F with ABS and heated grips. I work in the communication sector - mainly in the data side. I went over seas a few years ago and realized that we have the best country in the world. We just do not appreciate it enough. Now I try my best to see it by making a dot on the map and going for it.Leon Lee

I have been riding bikes since high school, had a little break working on my career , got married and decided to get in to it again.
I am married to my lovely wife Carley. I recently got my 1st ever 1200 Adventure.
I love the idea of discovering new places dirt or tar and have done some nice routes at the Cederberg & down the coasline from Cape Town to Struisbaai.
My wife has now joined me and we are slowly getting into the pillion riding thing as well.
I attended the Klipbokkop Country Trax training and boy oh boy did that give me a boost.
Looking forward to meeting you all on some out rides. I love the offroad touring challenges and are also keen to do some touring with my wife.

Hi, I bought a bike originally to commute(KLR650)until I was wiped by a car. Sold the bike and bought a 1100 Shadow cruiser and had this until I got sick of pollishing crome, bought a VSTROM DL 1000 and then Len made me buy a BMW.(No I actually decided to buy a decent bike)I am fine on road, no off road experiance. Married with two kids and now my new baby(the GSA)
I have hung up my wings and now enjoy riding and golf.
Woon in SomersetWes, werk in Stellenbosch.
Cedric Edwards, married with three grown up kids. Wife and I loves early morning runs and would like to join up with others for breakfast runs ETC.
Alwyn,I have always wanted to own a BMW motorcycle. When I saw the offer to purchase a 2006 F800ST with 10,000km. My longtime wish to own a BMW was had. I had a Japanese bike 30 years ago which was then my only form of transport for me and five year old son. The boots and gloves from those years are still in usable condition today.
Hello my name is Shaun Thaysen, just bought myself the new 2013 F800GS, took delivery of it on Friday 8/2/2013 Thanks John .
Hi my name is Theo and I started riding again after a very long break. Bought a Z13 Kawasaki in 2004 and really enjoyed being back on a bike. In 2009 I bought a K1200GT (flying brick) and in 2010 I finally decided that gravel roads were the better option and I got that F800GS that I've been drooling over. My wife Emmie then wanted her own bike so she has the 650 Xcountry and enjoys it.
