The Winter ride has been and gone and what a weekend it was. We had three separate groups the "roadies" being led by Brian Messenger, then the off road beginners group (the biggest group) led by Anne & Andy Connell and the off road "advanced" group led by myself. All in all 49 people attended the ride. By all accounts the routes were enjoyed by all and the dinner at Jupiter House in Sutherland appears to have been well received. The weather Gods smiled upon us ensuring that we did not die from cold. It was however very chilly in the early mornings. To those that did not make the effort to join us you missed out on a really great ride.

Nelson's Creek Childrens' Fund

Unfortunately due to the lack of numbers at the Nelson’s Creek event this year the BMW Club was not in a position to make a donation to the Nelson’s Creek Children’s Fund. We donated money in 2007 and 2008 which went towards winter clothing for 16 children living on the farm. This year one of the children drowned in the farm dam further adding to the hardship of families. With winter fast approaching we would like to raise a small amount of money from the BMW Club for these children. Please help, any amount will be appreciated. Pay the money directly into the BMW Club account. Bank: First National Bank

By eliminating the backup vehicle and trailer we have reduced the price to R300! On my recent trip to Douglas in my 4x4 I rode a really nice track that does not appear on Mapsource of T4A on my GPS. I found it when I came upon a locked gate and needed to find a road to Sutherland as it was almost dark. What a great road it turned out to be. Bring your partners to join in the fun with us. The plan is therefore as follows : Meet at the Engen one stop on the N1 Joostenburg Vlaktas at 0730 on Saturday 23rd May and depart at 0800 for the Wimpy in Ceres for breakfast and a refuel. After breakfast we depart for Sutherland following some old and new tracks.
