Greek Evening at Vareladiko - Good Food, Good Friends, Plate Smashing and Zorba - July 20, some pics added.
We are planning a Greek evening at Vareladiko Restaurant on Friday the 20th of July - bring your husband/wife/partner with!
There are 50 seats available and as usual, first come, first served.
In the 1960's the movie "Zorba the Greek" captured the attention of a then worldwide audience. It show-cased and intorduced the seductive madness of the Greek culture and its lifestyle.
Vareladiko is a unique Greek restuarant which combines modern and traditional elements and is situated in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and in their own words, "Come and experience the Greek restuarant where seductive madness can be experienced." Yes, it can be found behind the boerie curtain!
Friday and Saturday nights are set aside for a "Greek Night Out." This includes a delicious three course meal, as well as dancing the Zorba and breaking of plates. Plates are broken anytime when a group of friends enjoy the special mix of food, wine and good company. (If you would like to break a plate please indicate this in your reply as there is a small cost involved - they are special plates that are supplied!)
Vareladiko is the only bar in Brackenfell that has over 300 liqueurs and spirits from over 26 countries! They operate a cash bar only system.
The three course meal costs R160 per person and consists of:
Starter: (serves 4 people)
Main: (Double meal combo - shared between 2 people)
Dessert: (Per person)
They cater for vegetarians aswell (please indicate if you would like this option - I will let you know if there is a cost difference)

We don't want to keep places booked we don't need and so will amend booking either way on Tuesday and confirm.
I've spoken to a few folks who've been there and by all accounts it makes for a brilliant evening out.
And you get to break plates, all legal and above board, you can even pretend they are the missus's.

It was a wonderfull evening, despite being picked on. The only disapointing thing was the plate breaking, I really thought we were going to get to break them on each others heads etc, as by then some of the folks had some payback coming their way. And thank fully, most of these folk ride bike better than they dance. Opa.
