Please help. A friend offered me his F650GS, if I can get it so SA from Lagos, Nigeria. Can anyone provide advice on how to do this, what the legalities, logistics and costs are?

Cheers,

Afrikaan

Afrokaan, you first need an

Afrokaan, you first need an import permit from SARS.

Start at SARS,

If you can get the directive from them that you do not need a permit or the permit then you move to step two.

Call Nile Dutch line and ask them for the groupage operator who gives them cargo ex Nigeria.
Then you contact that bod and neogtiate a rate door-2-door from Lagos or Port harcourt to Cape Town or Durban.

Most vessels call Durban.

Then you need an import agent here.

Call Damco, they can do the job for you over ehre and probalby from there as well.

When all is said and done, you may find that you would only have paid  10k more for a bike you chose out of many here in SA.
