BMWMCC Cape GS overnight ride to Op die Plaas, nestled between the Klein Swartberg and the Elandsberg, 1 to 2 September.
“We have received a few emails that go along the line of “but what about us ”.
So due to this extreme pressure , we are planning an overnight, off road ride to a new (for us) venue called Op die Plaas, nestled between the Klein Swartberg and Elandsberg Mountains, also for the weekend of 1 to 2 September. We will in fact be staying not be very far from Neels and his merry crowd as well .
Warren Ellwood and John Geldenhuys will be your hosts for this camping only weekend, and this ride is aimed at folks who feel fairly comfortable on the dirt.
For accommodation, you can camp under the blue gum trees or find a spot on the grass at the dam, which is full of black bass. These may be caught and released, so bring your stick.
As for chow, we are being catered for farm style, proper boerekos both Saturday night and Sunday morning. Bring your own picnic lunch on Saturday and snacks for Sunday and you should survive.
The club will also provide the usual honesty bar on Saturday evening.
The routes we will ride will include some awesome roads in greater Karoo area, loads of stunning scenery, and a trip through the Anysberg Nature Reserve and the Seweweekspoort, which is only 8 km away. Not much else you could ask for.
The ride will be accompanied by a back up vehicle and trailer as usual for peace of mind and to carry your goodies if need be.
R290.00 per person, which includes your camping accommodation, supper, breakfast and a contribution towards our back up vehicle and crew.
Interested in joining us? Please post to this thread or drop me a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org so I know who you are and I will be in contact. We will need to limit this ride to around 25 folks including the crew. Preference will also be given to paid up club members obviously.
Come and celebrate the begining of Spring.
